About
Abby Martin is a Chicago-based special effects artist and sculptor. Inspired by the squeamish practical effects of 80's horror and the colorful personalities of Jim Henson's worlds, I try to emulate the experience of feeling disgust toward yourself alongside the more comical and outrageous moments that come with being a human being. Utilizing my background in the execution of large public artworks across Indiana, I approach puppetry and sculpting with a sense of scale and color that is both playful and horrifying. I am currently pursuing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I have never and will never use AI in my artwork.
